It’s Okay to Bury Bad Reviews
Why? If you don’t bury bad reviews your unethical competitors and unreasonable customers will bury you with negative reviews.
When you bury bad reviews of you and/or your business, you build your brand by focusing on building positive search results and simultaneously pushing down negative search results to Google screen 2 and screen 3 which is exactly where you want them.
Going further, it’s a good idea to take a proactive approach and bury bad reviews before they even appear. Think of it as an insurance policy for your online reputation. You won’t have to fight fake reviews because there won’t be any negative search results anybody can easily find. That’s because, just like cream, all of the good content we will create and publish for you will rise to the top.
As the saying goes, “The best defense is a good offense.”
All it takes is one turd in the punch bowl to ruin your business. How? Where? Maybe from an unreasonable customer, an employee with a grudge or a competitor looking to take you down. Regardless, before someone makes a buying decision, they’ll ask around among friends, family, neighbors and co-workers and then turn to Google just to make sure.
Your would-be customer does their online research and finds your website, your Twitter feed, Facebook page, etc. and on the same screen of search results, they also see a nasty review or a blog post or a YouTube video accusing your restaurant of serving dog meat, your hair salon of laundering money for a drug cartel, your law firm of sinking a big lawsuit because you took a bribe from the other side, etc. The games people can play to destroy your business and your life are endless in scope and infinite in evil.
Pretty much anyone, for any reason, can publish information about your business, for better or for worse. And that information gets indexed by search engines. While I’m not suggesting you conceal your mistakes flaws, I am suggesting you don’t allow them to define your good work. That’s why you must bury bad reviews.

While it’s absolutely essential to bury bad reviews as a response to the threats to your livelihood, why not take a proactive stance and beat the pissed off people to the punch while building your brand? When someone searches for your company, why not pack the first two screens of Google with positive articles that elevates your company image while increasing your website traffic and increasing your sales?
For the sake of simplicity let’s call it article marketing and let’s respect it because it’s as old as the Internet itself.
