Kay Dean is in charge of Fake Review Watch and I can’t help but admire her many qualities all driving her to tackle an impossible task. The best analogy that comes to mind is that Ms. Dean is like a border agent intent on keeping our southern border safe from criminals like drug smugglers, gang members, human traffickers and outright terrorists. The border agent does the best job they can, they fist pump every achievement while top of mind is one inescapable fact; there are just too many of them. Sheer numbers dictate some will get through to wreak havoc. And so it is with fake online reviews. Never underestimate the power of the profit motive to drive people to act with an intensity of ferocious purpose that can drive you out of business and out of your mind. Don’t be fooled into thinking big tech can help. They’re helpless.
